2023 Victorian Long Course Championship

On the weekend of March 9 2023-13 March 2023, Caulfield aquatics was represented by eight swimmers competing at the 2023 Victoria Long Course State Championships. All eight swimmers swam to the best of their ability achieving multiple PB’s across the five days of events.

Callum Otto made five finals across the five days which is an amazing achievement as well as recording personal best times in all his events. Both Xanthe Sherman and Madison Klein finished in the Top 30 in the state in all their events. As well as Harry Barker competing in his first long course championship finishing in the top 20 in the state. Ava Mason also competed at her first State championships.

Lachlan Zueschner also competed in events finishing in the top-five in all his events, which is a massive achievement considering Lachies preparation for states has been interrupted with two surgeries to repair a broken femur.

Caulfield aquatics also had four of our boys compete in the 4x50 metre freestyle relay. Callum and Harry (12 years) with Alex and Bailey (16 and 15 Years) competed against 18-year old’s. All four swimmers swam amazingly and got to experience what it is like to swim up against older boys.

Congratulations to all swimmers on your amazing acheivements it is great to see all your hard work paying off.
